Zoom Running - what on earth is it?!...
& why?!

 

Zoom Running started in lockdown, when some of the runners I coach were struggling to stay motivated running on their own.

So, we tried logging into the Zoom app', running at the same time, while I ran, coached and motivated.

The first time, we used video - but of course, as a runner you need to see where you're going, so we switched to audio only after that :)

And it worked  - brilliantly in fact!

The runs and coaching are live

 

I appreciate one of the tough parts of doing something healthy, (no matter how good we know it is for us), is kidding ourselves we'll do it "later" ,

- and then not getting round to doing it!

For this reason, the coaching is live

- I am out running at the same time as you, and all the other Zoom runners around the world :)

There are no pre-recorded studio sessions,

be it rain-running or sprinting in the sun, I'll be doing it at the same time as you.

Motivation, Results and Community

More than ever, our collective mental health is under a lot of pressure.

We also know running AND community can help.

Zoom Running has been developed with that in mind.

I wanted to create something that helped motivate people and improve their running, as well as providing support in these strange, difficult, chaotic, anxiety provoking times. 

There are three elements to  Zoom Runs that put it in a different league to anything else in the market.
First – live coaching sessions, with me, while I run myself.

You simply log into the Zoom app' and click the link when it's time to run, and listen while running as if you were running with me.

It's so good, that Zoom Runs have been featured on  Talk Radio and Times Radio  and attracted leaders in the running community like Tom and Jade Bedford, founders of some of the UK's most successful running events, Richmond Runfest and AirRun.

The runs include top elements to help your mindset, incredible guests, result-driving intervals, key ways to enhance the physical aspects of running, and importantly, companionship.

Second - community and fun

We have a dedicated private Facebook group which gives you the opportunity to connect with your fellow Zoom Runners, ask questions and share your experiences with other members of the Zoom Run community.

And then there's the special guest runners who join the Monday morning chatty run.

They are specially handpicked not only for their expertise, be it in running, or motivation, but also because of their fascinating stories - like

Jordan Wylie who has not only run some of the most interesting marathons in the World including Afghasastan and Iraq, attempted to paddleboard solo round the UK (!) and raised over a million for charity;

or Paul Walmsley, the man who didn't stop running for 5 years (.....from the police!) and has transformed from one of Britain's most wanted men to being one of the most respected people helping juveniles from following a simlar path.

Your Monday morning runs will never be the same again!

Thirdly - top coaching

I have helped countless runners re-find their motivation, avoid injuries, understand  nutrition, and train effectively, with countless numbers breaking longstanding PBs.

When are the Zoom Runs?

Mon 7:45-8:25am GMT: Steady chatty run

The aim is to get you up and out starting your week right with a steady run.

We either encompass technique work to help your running, or have incredible guest runners to keep you interested, motivated and learning some good nuggets :)

Wed 12:45-13:25pm GMT: Intervals

The intervals are all coached on effort level - to ensure that regardless of your speed you're optimising your training.

I'm not sure anyone feels like it before we start - but the results are mind blowing! So many runners have completely smashed life-time PB's by joining. 

Thu 09:30-10:10am GMT: Build

We start steadily and gradually build speed throughout. 

What do I need?

* Zoom App' downloaded on your phone

* Headphones

* Ready to start promptly

 

How far do we run?

* This very much depends on your speed

* The runs are 40min long, including warm up & cool down.

What level of runner is this for?

* Most runners are recreational runners looking for fun and motivation

* We have runners logging in who struggle to get to 5k on their own, to those who've broken 2hr20 marathons!

How do I join?

* You can come and try, to see what it's like by booking here

* Your spot is valid for the next week. If you can't make it, I will try to re-book you, but can't guarantee it.

* If you enjoy the taster, you can join us with the option of one or unlimited runs each week, as well as getting access to the community and coaching support.
